Local-first

Baggo is local-first. Data is sent to cloud services only when you choose to enable account, synchronization, or sharing features, and only the data necessary to provide those features is processed.

Using Baggo without an account

Baggo works fully without an account. To download Baggo's item catalogs and check for app updates, the app requests files from baggo.dev, which, like any web request, involves your IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in securely operating and delivering Baggo. If you add a catalog published by someone else, the app downloads it from that publisher.

Account, sync and sharing

Signing in is optional. If you do, Baggo processes only what it needs to run your account, sync your data between your devices and share with the people you choose: your email address and authentication information, your profile (name, photo and User ID), your synced lists and items, including the photos you attach to them, and the friends, shares and invitations you create. Your friends can see your name, photo and User ID; your email address is not shown to other people.

This data is stored only to provide these features. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, the performance of the service you asked for.

Sign in with Apple or Google

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, that provider handles the sign-in, and Baggo receives only what is needed to create and run your account: your email address (with Apple, possibly a relay address), your name, and with Google your profile photo.

Service providers

Baggo uses cloud service providers for sign-in, synchronization, storage and sharing, and a hosting provider for its website and catalogs. They receive data only as far as needed to provide these functions.

What Baggo never does

The contents of your lists are not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, recommendations or behavioural analysis. Baggo does not sell personal data, does not create advertising profiles, and does not use your content to train AI models. The app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.

This website

To deliver and secure baggo.dev, the hosting provider processes technical request data such as your IP address and the page requested, based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in securely operating and delivering Baggo. The site sets no cookies and runs no tracking. It does not give access to your Baggo account.

How long data is kept

Data is kept only as long as needed to provide Baggo, or as long as the law requires. Deleting a list or an item removes it, and the deletion travels to your other devices.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app: Menu, Account, Delete account. This deletes your account and its synced data, subject to technically necessary backup periods and legal retention duties. See Delete your account for details.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to object to processing, where these apply. The app can export your data as a file from the account screen. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@baggo.dev.
